Job Title: Plant Operator – Chemical / Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Location: Mumbai

Reports To: Plant Supervisor / Production Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Plant Operator with a strong background in chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating process equipment, monitoring production parameters, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The candidate should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be proficient in using Microsoft Excel for daily data entry and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate, monitor, and control plant equipment and processes in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
2. Handle and process raw materials and chemicals safely and efficiently.
3. Record process parameters, production data, and shift reports accurately using Microsoft Excel and other digital tools.
4. Ensure production targets are met while maintaining product quality and minimizing waste.
5. Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance of equipment.
6. Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOPs, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) regulations.
7. Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
8. Participate in shift handovers and provide clear communication regarding plant status and ongoing activities.
9. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
10. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area, ensuring adherence to 5S principles.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical plant operations.
- Strong understanding of chemical handling, process control, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with batch records, GMP documentation, and cleanroom operations (preferred in pharma).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for daily reporting, data tracking, and performance analysis.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to work in shifts and adhere to production schedules.
